I grew up on a small cattle ranch about 35 minutes from the Oregon Coast. The graduating class in my high school was about 50 students, only a handful of whom attended a division 1 university. My home town, nicknamed Timber Town USA, is home to one of the largest lumber mills in the county and timber products are by far the largest commodity in the area. My parents both attended Oregon State University, my mom as an Animal Science major and my dad majoring in forestry engineering. My sister attended Cornell University where she received a dual major in Ag business and Dairy Science. I am currently majoring in ag economics and plan to attend law school after receiving my undergraduate degree. Eventually I plan to move back to Oregon and practice ag law.
